COD Modern Warfare Remastered Supply Drops - Necessary Evil?

COD Modern Warfare Remastered supply drops are here to stay weather players like it or not. The question is will the items help you win or they are only there for cosmetic effects.

Recent MWR Update

COD Modern Warfare Remastered is getting new maps including the Winter Crash in celebration of the upcoming holidays. There are also special weapon camouflages that are suited for the holidays like the Gift Wrap and Ugly Sweater. In addition, the developer is also loading of plenty of materials that will enable players to customize their weapons and gears. You could get them via loot drops or supply drops.

MWR Players See Red

Interestingly, the mere mention of supply drops elicited violent reactions from many COD Modern Warfare Remastered players. They lambasted Activision for trying to squeeze money out of them via the supply drops. They believed that the developer will soon give the best weapons to those who could afford them. But is there any truth to such accusation?

Supply Drops For Personal Customization Only

The supply drops right now contained items for personally customizing weapons and other gears. There are weapons included but they are only for melee which are normally not so effective compared to guns. Players could buy the Supply Drops by using COD points (not available right now) or Depot Credits. It seems the additional contents can hardly change the gameplay between those who bought them and those who did not.

Will Developer Stick To Its Word?

Supply drops are nothing new since they are available in other COD titles such as Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3. Despite the vocal opposition, a lot of players bought them either through game credit or real world cash (via COD points). Reddit user throwaway posted a pattern that COD developers have made about the Supply Drops. The poster warned that pretty soon the cool and powerful weapons in the MWR will only be available via supply drops. Only time will tell if such event will occur and if it can really change the gameplay.
