Super Mario Bros. is slated to release a limited edition Blu-Ray version on Feb. 13, 2017. Moreover, the Super Mario Bros. Steelbook edition may reportedly include a new 60-minute documentary from the directors and producers of the game. It has also been revealed that Super Mario Bros. is yet to come to Android devices despite faux Super Mario Bros. for Android games being spotted on Google Play.
Limited-Edition Steelbook Blu-Ray To Launch in February
The 1993 video game adaptation starring Bob Hoskins was once noted as the worst thing Hoskins ever did. Over two decades later, a limited time only Steelbook edition is already slated to be released. On that note, U.K. retailer Zavi has reportedly started accepting preorders for the Super Mario Bros. Steelbook edition on its website. Included in the pack is a 60-minute documentary with the co-directors, producers and actors as well as bonus features including the original electronic press kit and storyboard galleries.
Zavi is set to offer the Super Mario Bros. Blu-ray version for £15.99 or about $19.75. Super Mario Bros. still star Hoskins with John Leguizamo as Brooklyn plumbers Mario and Luigi. The two are set to discover a parallel world full of intelligent descendants of dinosaurs in an alternate dimension following a meteor strike on Earth millions of years ago. Moreover, both are set to battle the evil King Koopa and free Princess Daisy while saving mankind.
Super Mario Run Android Games On Google Play Are Fake
In other news, Google Play is reportedly being plagued with faux Super Mario Bros. for Android games. Note that the Android release of Super Mario Run are set to be launched in a few more days. In the meantime, the iOS version was already launched before Christmas with a $10 one-time purchase fee.
Super Mario Bros. players expecting the Android version have reportedly been warned by security experts to wait for the official Android launch. Apparently, a veritable mountain of malware lies within the fake games. Note that security firm Trend Micro revealed malware on more than 9,000 Super Mario Bros. posers on Google Play.
