Mass Effect: Andromeda & Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Can No Longer Expect These Games On Nintendo Switch

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda are two of the much-anticipated game titles set to be released. While the latter is already slated to hit consoles by March 2017, the former's release this year however remains to be in no certain terms. In the meantime, many fans had jumped over the top upon hearing reports that these games are coming to Nintendo Switch which is due to be released by the end of this year's first quarter. However, fans can't expect these games on this brand-new platform and here's why.

Mass Effect 3 Not Selling Well On Wii U

It isn't new for EA and BioWare to venture on a Nintendo platform as Mass Effect 3 was made available on Wii U. Looking at the performance of the title, Mass Effect 3 didn't sell well. According to a Gaming Bolt report, Mass Effect: Andromeda's developer and publisher are not too eager to give Nintendo another try. However, the Wii U release is quite debatable at some point because Mass Effect 3 was sold on the console for a brand-new price despite its late release.

Apart from the fact that EA and BioWare would no longer want to cast bets on Nintendo is the idea of releasing Mass Effect: Andromeda on Frostbite 3, EA's very own game engine. While Switch could be a great option for players, EA and BioWare do not see fit to divide fans into many platforms. The game has been designed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

On Oct. 21, 2016, Mass Effect: Andromeda producer Michael Gamble responded to a tweet asking about the game's Nintendo Switch release. The executive wasn't direct to deny that the game will not be released on Switch, but excluded the platform from his answers. Remember though that this is not an immediate statement that no Mass Effect: Andromeda release can be expected for Switch so there could still be possibility that something is in the works.

Rockstar Games Dubious Of Switch's System

Rockstar Games, on the other hand, is more concerned of Nintendo Switch's support for Red Dead Redemption 2. In an exclusive interview recently on YouTube, notorious leakster Laura Kate Dale shared a thing or two about what Rockstar Games think of Nintendo. In a no hold barred statement, Dale said, "Rockstar do not trust Nintendo." While this sounds to be condescending at first glance, what Dale wanted to come across with her message is that Nintendo Switch's system can't support enough Red Dead Redemption 2 in many aspects of the game. Nintendo's history with Rockstar Games only include the Table Tennis, Manhunt 2, Bully and Chinatown Wars.

Nintendo Switch will hit shelves in March 2017 and the Japanese giant had revealed already since last year a list of third-party developers supporting the new console. As announced, more details about Switch will be unveiled this month until its launch date. Nintendo should be doubling its to get more support from other publishers and developers to ramp up Switch and it isn't too late that EA, BioWare, Rockstar Studios and Rockstar Games will change their minds.
