Kingdom Hearts III To Feature Character Customization?

Ever since it launched back in 2002, Kingdom Hearts has been able to amass a huge following and has grown to be one of Square Enix's most successful franchises. A lot of people are eagerly waiting for the release of Kingdom Hearts III next year and rumor has it that the game will be featuring character customization - as long as the fans are sure that they want it.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, Square Enix will be making character customization available for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and it's the fan reception of customization from that game that will affect whether the option will be available in KHIII.

In an interview with KH13, Tetsuya Nomura, who is a producer for Kingdom Hearts III, said, "We knew we could insert that feature into the game this time, but whether or not we can with [KHIII]...we have other priorities ahead of us so it depends on time, but we'll look at the reaction with [KH0.2] and consider it."

Customization has always been a thing with Kingdom Hearts games as Sora has been able to change the form of his Keyblade depending on which keychain he chooses to attach to it. There hasn't been much room, however, when it comes to fiddling with Sora's look. The game already did that for the player whenever Sora and his friends ventured off into other worlds.

A lot of fans are very positive that Square Enix will be focusing more of its energy on the Kingdom Hearts franchise after the successful release of Final Fantasy XV. Granted the company still has a lot of other titles to work on, like the remake of Final Fantasy VII which will have returning hero Cloud Strife along with villain, Sephiroth.

No official release date has been announced for Kingdom Hearts III, but fans are hopeful that they will get it sometime in 2017.
