The Nintendo NES Classic Edition stock is still hard to come by in different parts of the world, but according to recent reports, you won't be paying as much if you do decide to get your hands on one. As of now, the Nintendo NES Mini remains out of stock at known retailers like Argos, GAME, Smyths and Toys R Us, but you can actually get a better, lower price if you do decide to purchase one elsewhere.
NES Mini purchasing woes
A lot of retro gaming fans were left empty-handed and disappointed that they weren't able to get hold of a Nintendo NES Mini in time for Christmas. The only way to get hold of the Nintendo product was by purchasing the console via third-party sellers on eBay, Amazon, and CEX.
This meant paying a hefty amount of £150 or more for the Nintendo NES Mini, which has been short in supply ever since its official launch. While this remains your best option of getting one, average Amazon, eBay, Amazon and CEX prices have reportedly dropped since Christmas.
Price Cuts & Discounts for the NES Mini after Christmas
One particular Amazon seller is selling the console for £115, though with a delay on delivery. If this is going to be the case, then you'd be better off waiting for another official restock update from Nintendo.
Other Amazon sellers are selling the Mini NES consoles for £132 upwards. CEX, on the other hand, has dropped the price from £145 to £130 since Christmas Eve.
There are also several eBay auctions that are ending today, each with leading bids of less than £80. It follows right after the recent news that a miniature SNES might also be in the works, although here's hoping that the company has more stock when the Nintendo Classic Mini SNES officially rolls out.
SNES Classic Console coming?
A recently submitted patent Nintendo's Super Famicom (SNES) controller was reportedly filed on the 5th of December, 2016. This has raised several rumors and speculation that a new Nintendo Classic console is on its way.
Games for the Mini NES
There is also the chance that this new trademark is connected with a separate launch focused on those who play Virtual Console titles, although it appears that Nintendo has found success with the Mini NES. In terms of games, the Nintendo NES Mini features the original Super Mario Bros Trilogy, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man 2 and Castlevania.
There's also games like Balloon Fight, Double Dragon, Metroid and Donkey Kong. Unlike the original NES, players are able to pick up where they left off since they can now save their games.
