Nintendo Switch Won't Have Persona 5 After All

Fans who are looking forward to Persona 5 having a Nintendo Switch version is in for a disappointment because Atlus, the developer of the game, has already confirmed that there are no plans to bring the game to another platform.

John Hardin, the community manager of Atlus USA, tweeted that Persona 5 is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 while Yakuza 0 will be released on PlayStation 4. He also added that there are no plans to bring the games to another platform. He referred to it as a "Sony thing."

The Sony thing he is referring to is the fact that both Atlus games are PlayStation exclusive games. These are usually indicated on the box labels of the games. However, some people noted that the Persona 5 packaging doesn't have that PlayStation exclusive label while Yakuza 0 has a "PS4 Console Exclusive" label.

This information suggests that Persona 5 might have a PC release. On the other hand, a Nintendo Switch release is still unclear.

Both Atlus games were featured in Sony's teaser trailer which showed the games the company will be releasing exclusively on their consoles including the PS4 Pro and PS VR.

Yakuza 0 is the prequel to the Yakuza games which are popular in Japan. After a not-so-stellar performance of Yakuza 3 in the west, Sega decided not to release anymore Yakuza games in the US and Europe. However, it looked like it has changed its decision hoping the new title will fare much better than its predecessors.

Yakuza 0 will finally have an US and Europe release on January 24. There will also be a special Yakuza 0 Business Edition in the United States and pre-orders are already ongoing. Persona 5, on the other hand, will have its western release on April 4.
