Niantic Should Release A Patch Solving These Problems On Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO has been around us for quite some time already and it hasn't been a smooth ride all throughout the journey. Niantic had let us experience fun times with the game, capturing creatures across the streets and anywhere you can imagine. Amid all these things are the problems and issues that come along with the phenomenal game. Some Niantic has treated, some left unattended.

Just recently though, the Pokémon GO community has been bombarded again with some recurring problems. You may take a look at them below and see if you have experienced them yourself as well.

Battery Drain

Battery drain has been a perennial problem for Pokémon GO players. Since the beginning of time when it was released, players on both iOS and Android devices have complained about the excessive consumption of battery life by the app. Niantic, of course, sent fixes for this matter along and this time around it continues to persist. On Reddit, a user named TarAldarion posted a new battery drain complaint saying, "I have notice that battery usage is increasing over time but it is actually becoming ridiculous now."

He further expressed that in a matter of 44 minutes, he completely lost his game as the battery ran out of power. TarAldarion is using a Google Nexus 5x phone ran on minimum brightness and power saver-enabled. The player also noted that "it was not this bad before Christmas." This sentiment was resonated by other Pokémon GO players. One commenter named pugzy77x said Pokémon GO drains his/her device as well even when using a 2.5 A power bank.

Extreme Lag In Gym Battles

Another concern pertains to extreme lag during gym battles. On Reddit as well, a player named xylog shared his/her concern about failing to enter gym battles for a couple of times and further discussed the extreme delay in gym battles. A couple of other players have validated this complaint. Per experience, one user named HeadlessCG said "the entire battle would freeze" each time he/she executes dodges. Many other players also expressed annoyance over this issue.

Resolution Options

Meanwhile, many players are also having a difficult situation involving the frame rate of Pokémon GO. The app has a standard 60 fps and it has been a huge problem for many players since the game was released in July. The lag during gym battles and in other parts of the game are sometimes caused by high resolution which some, especially low-end devices, struggle to match with. A Reddit post by ispeelgood suggested that Niantic should put up graphical options for players to choose from to match their phone's capability. These options could include Effects Quality and Render Resolution to provide a wide array of options for players according to their devices.

In the meantime, Niantic hasn't responded to these concerns yet as of the press time. It's best if fans would wait for the official announcement and release of patch from Niantic to fix all these issues. Despite all the issues and bugs Pokémon GO players have experienced, the app remains to be the top-grosser in the games section on Google Play Store. In the top five, Pokémon GO is respectively followed by Supercell's Clash of Clans, Epic War's Mobile Strike, Machine Zone's Game of War-Fire Age and Supercell's Clash Royale.
