Terry Crews really wants the Doomfist role. He wants Overwatch players to help convince Blizzard to give him the role.
Latest On Overwatch Doomfist Role
Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan mentioned last year that another character is coming out this 2017. Many players believed that the next likely hero is Doomfist. A lot of them are also hoping that actor Terry Crews will get the supposed role as its voice. The actor's persona seems to fit the rumored hero, according to many Overwatch fans.
Crew's recent visit to Blizzard has sparked speculations that Doomfist is coming out in the game. As of press time though, the game developer has yet to make an official announcement about any upcoming Overwatch hero.
Crews Launches Social Media Campaign
The actor is currently making a pitch through social media asking Overwatch players to help him get the role. His recent Facebook and Twitter post asked fans if they want him to voice Doomfist for real. Thousands replied indicating their support. He also posted an article regarding his Blizzard visit in his ArtBuff site. Is not yet clear though if this is enough to convince Blizzard especially if the role does not yet exist.
Campaign Dismissed As Hype
Some though believed that Crews is simply doing some sort of publicity stunt. One social forum user believes that Blizzard already gave him the Doomfist role. Some observed that he is simply drumming publicity both for him and Overwatch. It is also possible that Blizzard has not yet given him the role. This is possibly the reason why he wants the help of the Overwatch community.
Nevertheless, Overwatch fans can hear what Terry Crews sound like in the game courtesy of this video. Based on the fan-made video, Crews' voice will be right at home with the rest of the game's characters.
