Rumors on the upcoming Nintendo Switch have been rampant now that the Nintendo presentation is just a week from now. However, not all of them have been positive news.
Storage Problems
As a hybrid console that can be played at home or brought along wherever the user goes, it should come with ample space to save game data. But it seems like that is not the case. Emily Rogers who also goes by ArcadeGirl64 tweeted back in October that the Switch will only have 32GB of storage.
According to Let's Play Video Games , the Switch will have support for Micro SD card but only up to 128GB. Add that to the 32GB built in storage and one will understandably scratch their head wondering what was Nintendo thinking. Mic noted that a sixty-dollar game can use up 50GB on its own but usually needs more due to patches and other downloadable contents.
As a point of comparison the PS4 and Xbox One and their relatives come with at least 500GB. Premium versions of these consoles can go up to 2TB of memory.
Gameplay Sharing
Nintendo is said to be planning to feature gameplay sharing, according to a journalist and Nintendo insider Laura Kate Dale. The company is said to be leaning on enabling voice chat and getting rid of friend codes on its way to become more involved in the online multiplayer field.
Games List
One game title recently mentioned to be available on the Switch is "Beyond Good and Evil 2". The game will be exclusive to the console but only for a year. After which, it can be played on the PS4 and Xbox One, according to reports.
Other titles confirmed for the Switch are:
- Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Yooka-Laylee
- Stardew Valley
- Seasons of Heaben
- LEGO City: Undercover
- Just Dance 2017
- Dragon Quest XI
- The Sacred Hero
The Nintendo Switch reveal event will be held in Tokyo on Jan. 12. Expect more details to be unveiled that day including release date, price, and specs. Pre-orders are rumored to start the following day so be ready to hit the phone lines or go online.
