Injustice 2 Will Not Be Released On March, Says NetherRealm Founder

There was recent leak saying that NetherRealm's Injustice 2 was going to be released by the end of March, but Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has come to Twitter to debunk the news - which means that Injustice enthusiasts will just have to sit and wait for an official announcement from the studio.

The supposed leak said that the release date for Injustice 2 was March 28 and it was deduced via the Xbox Live Rewards page. Of course, this made a lot of fans happy since it would mean that they would only have to wait three months to get their hands on the game. Boon, however, simply posted, "FYI: Injustice 2 is not coming out March 28."

The release date was actually announced alongside another highly-anticipated game, Mass Effect: Andromeda and that game was given a release date for March 31. Though the Injustice release date may have been debunked, it's still possible for the new Mass Effect game to come out earlier in the year.

According to Gaming Bolt, the March 28 date could have simply been a placeholder for the title. Some fans on the comment section of the post had already been discussing that it's possible that the game could come out in December of this year.

With the release of Zack Snyder's "Justice League" this November, NetherRealm might find it the best move to jump in on the DC hype and release the game close to the movie. Later in the year will also see the release of DICE's Star Wars Battlefront 2, and with the hype building up for "Star Wars Episode VIII," December may find Injustice 2 competing with a lot of bigger titles.

As of now, no official release date has been announced for Injustice 2, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed that it would be available sometime this year.
