January Game Releases: Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, Gravity Rush 2, Kingdom Hearts, Digimon World Next Order, & More

With the new year just kicked in, the gaming industry is already so festive that game releases for January is already thriving. A string of games will soon land platforms, including Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Gravity Rush 2, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Digimon World: Next Order, among many others.

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star is set to be released Jan. 17 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Developed by Marvelous, this action game has 16 servants that players can choose from. All of them belong to parties of Nero, Tamamo no Mae and Altera, except for two characters who are independent.

Dragon Quest 8: Journey Of The Cursed King

Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King arrives on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 3DS Jan. 20. Developed by Level-5 and published by Square Enix, the 3DS version features two new playable characters, Red and Morrie, who were just NPCs in the PlayStation 2 version. The new Photo Quests challenges players to take photos of rare monsters and hidden items.

Gravity Rush 2

Gravity Rush 2 is also out Jan. 20 on PlayStation 4. Developed by SIE Japan Studio and Project Siren, the main thrust of this installment is just similar to the gravity-controlling ability of the players in the original title, only that it is expanded this time. The game has three times the amount of missions and 2.5 times larger map.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is set to be launched Jan. 24. Developed by Square Enix exclusively for PlayStation 4, this title brings two new contents, Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep- A Fragmentary Passage, plus an HD remastered version of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

Moto Racer 4

Moto Racer 4 launches Jan. 24. This motorbike racing video game is developed by Anuman and published by Microids for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. This instalment brings players to another level of high-speed and arcade style races.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is set for its Jan. 24 release across major platforms. Capcom developed and published the new survival horror game's instalment in the first-person perspective, a first time in the series. The game is more constricted to a smaller location with lesser weapons for players to use.

Tales Of Berseria

Tales of Berseria is an RPG developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. This title allows players to freely move around the battleground and rotate the camera according to one's command. Characters have the so-called Sour Gauge that replenishes on its own and by stealing souls from the enemies. It is out Jan. 24.

Yakuza 0

Yakuza 0 is set for release Jan. 24 in North America and Europe on exclusively on PlayStation 4. Developed and published by Sega, this open world, action adventure video game is set in Dec. 1988 in Kamurocho, a dramatized version of Tokyo's Shinjuku and Kabukicho.

Abzu

Abzu is out in North America Jan. 31 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Giant Squid Studios developed the game while 505 Games published it. This adventure game explores the vast riches underwater where players can interact with its creatures.

Digimon World: Next Order

Digimon World: Next Order launched Jan. 31 as well on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, this open world RPG mimics Digimon World, Re: Digitize and Decode's gameplay, only that it adds a second Digimon partner.

Hitman: The Complete First Season

Hitman: The Complete First Season is set to be launched Jan. 31 across three major platforms. Developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix, this episodic action adventure stealth video game centers on Agent 47, a genetically enhanced assassin, crossing international borders to track down targets.
