NeoGAF users recently posted a new picture coming from CES 2017, apparently showing an Xbox Scorpio presentation along within AMD's Vega/Ryzen booth. Presented as 'the new horizon' for 4K gaming and Virtual Reality, it would appear that these could potentially be the two main selling points that Microsoft are looking for a focus on for their new upcoming super console.
The Xbox Scorpio's power
Another obvious point to make from this is that the Xbox Scorpio could also potentially be using the new Vega architecture that is currently being utilized for CPU power in the recently launched Ryzen PCs. It is still unclear if this would mean the exact same version that is being used now, but it does bode well for the those who are hoping that the new Microsoft Xbox console will be able to pack a truly impressive performance.
Xbox Scorpio's potential
Xbox Scorpio coupled with a top GPU and CPU chipset would turn it into a very interesting product, based on the specs alone. The Scorpio's specs could also be boosted by the use of the new Windows 10 Game Mode development tool.
It was recently reported that Windows 10 was developing a new Game Mode feature as a part of a future update. The said feature will ensure that power is directed towards Windows 10 games rather than background apps.
This will then make your Windows 10 PC act more like a home console.
Windows 10 Game mode to benefit Scorpio
According to a new Windows Central report, the said Game Mode will also be benefitting the Xbox One Scorpio. Built for the Universal Windows Platform, any Game Mode enabled releases that will be supporting 4K on PC would make the transition towards the Xbox Scorpio with little or no fuss.
The report would suggest that the 4K textures used in the PC version of games like Resident Evil 7, for example, could be instantly unpacked on the Scorpio. With all things said, it would seem pretty clear that the 4K feature and VR will be the Scorpio's biggest assets.
