Microsoft Takes Head-On-Collission On 'PlayStation 4 Pro' With The 'Xbox Scorpio'

We are already fully aware that Microsoft is planning on developing the Xbox One Scorpio and making it the most powerful console ever made. But so far, apart from vague and uncertain targets, Microsoft have only stuck towards discussing the system's GPU performance, which we, again, already know that it will be an (admittedly) impressive 6 TFLOPs.

The Scorpio could get even stronger

However, right now it seems like Microsoft may be going all out on the CPU front as well. According to a picture taken by someone on NeoGAF at AMD's booth during CES of last year, it looks like the Xbox Scorpio may be using the truly impressive Vega architecture that AMD has just debuted for their CPUs, including the fresh Ryzen.

The Scorpio would revolutionarily be powerful

If this is proven to be true, the Scorpio will literally have one of the newest and most advanced CPU chipsets within it, which is even far beyond most gaming PCs on the market. That, coupled with its already ultra-impressive GPU, is likely to officially make it a truly impressive beast of a console.

The incorporations are so sweet that most analysts can even believe that it is actually happening right now. But it is, and all we have to do is to wait for more updates and details regarding the Scorpio's current state.

How the Scorpio will fit in

Of course, it is still unclear about just how Microsoft will be selling such a device at mass market prices, or whether such a powerful console even has any meaning given that all Scorpio games are also programmed to run on the standard Xbox One. But for avid fans of technology, it seems like the Xbox Scorpio may have a lot to offer once it rolls out.

Will Microsoft swallow a loss like they did with the Xbox and Xbox 360, or pass the costs on towards its customers? All remains to be seen.
