Overwatch Guide, Tips: Using D.Va To Rank Up Quickly

Overwatch D. Va is a favorite among many competitive players. Here are some of the reasons why her rockets and self-destruct tend to turn the enemy to shreds.

D.Va As A Tank

The Korean mech pilot is a tank hero who can mess up the opposing team's strategy. Her Defense Matrix is a very strong incentive for the enemy to run for cover. But it will take more than that to win the match. Fortunately, D.Va also has several abilities that she can bring in the fray. The key is to have every team member cooperate in order to win.

Self-Destruct When Needed

Her Self-Destruct ability is quite powerful enough to take out an enemy or two. Keep in mind though the team comes first. Using the Self-Destruct can save your team from a very tough bind. It's a worthy sacrifice considering you can call for another mech to replace the blown up one.

Use the Self-Destruct as a means to cripple the opposing team. You can also force them to start a fight they are not ready to commit. D.Va's Boosters can be used as an opening for your team mates to overwhelm the opposition. Take out the other opposing tanks such as Reinhardt or D.Va to weaken the enemy team. Here's a video on how professional players make use of D.Va in their matches. It's interesting to note that the Overwatch competitive scene is dominated by the triple tank meta. One of the most favored tanks includes D.Va. Considering her current capabilities that's quite understandable.

About D. Va

Her real name is Hana Song and she is currently the youngest Overwatch hero, according to the official site. Interestingly, she is a former Korean pro-gamer who joined the military as a Mech Pilot to battle the country's Omnic threat. Her mech is armed with two short-ranged fusion cannons but she personally carries a longer ranged blaster.
