As the 2017 Detroit Auto Show kicks off, the most awaited vehicles from different automakers have been unveiled including the 2018 GMC Terrain that has been attracting a great deal of attention. It appears that aside from external changes, the 2018 GMC Terrain also has new engine options that are causing quite the curiosity amongst fans and enthusiasts.
2018 GMC Terrain: New Engine Options
According to a report from CNET, the 2018 GMC Terrain now allows buyers to choose between three new engines. The best part about this is that the third option is a diesel. It was stated that the first engine is a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that cranks out 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet or torque. The other is a 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline-4 that delivers 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
Accordingly, these powertrains are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The final engine is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque that is paired with a six-speed automatic as reported.
2018 GMC Terrain: New Looks
As the teaser suggested, the 2018 GMC Terrain revealed a new look when its veil was lifted. "Doesn't it look amazing? It's a great looking vehicle. The new Terrain offers a bold, new design that proudly announces its arrival," said Duncan Aldred, Vice President of Global GMC Sales and Marketing in a report. It seems that the automaker worked especially hard in the appearance of the 2018 GMC Terrain. In the same report, Helen Emsley, Executive Director of Global GMC Design stated that they wanted to create something with real road presence that would make people say they want one when they see it on the street.
2018 GMC Terrain: Price And Availability
Reports state that the 2018 GMC Terrain will be launched sometime in summer this year. Details regarding the price have not yet been revealed but it was reported that it will not be far from the price of the current model, which is $24,070.
