As we all know, Capcom has shifted the franchise's focus into another aspect for their upcoming entry, Resident Evil 7. The developer has skipped the appearance of traditional characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, at the same time changing the game's approach to the gameplay. One notable change that Capcom made is the switching from the usual third-person perspective to a first-person view. As reported, it will be the first of the franchise.
According to the report from Game Rant, a huge number of fans have already experienced what the game will look like with their Beginning Hour demo that has been released to all of its slated platforms. Since the demo has been out for quite some time now, it should be expected that there are people who will try their best exploring the source material the best they can.
Recently, a modder and YouTuber named Tom Humble has succeeded to change the camera view into third-person from the standard first-person. The switching of the perspective reveals the main character who actually does not have a head. Perhaps, since the camera was on the main character's shoulder for the whole duration of the game, Capcom did not go through designing the main character's head at all.
For those who are uninitiated, this latest discovery of the main character being headless does not surprise fans. Basically, it is a normal scenario when one person alters the view that is only dedicated for first-person. For example, fans have encountered a similar scenario in Outlast and Firewatch, as both titles show their main characters without skulls once moving out of the first-person perspective.
Obviously, the gameplay of Resident Evil 7 is a little bit peculiar and significantly heavier when it switches from third to first. However, it is still worth stating how admirable the third-person simulation look as seen from the clip below.
Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for release on Jan. 24, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
