Canadian carrier TELUS seems to be on track to release the Google Nexus 4 soon. The handset is available via Google Play Store and other carriers in the country.
Nexus 4, released in November 2012, has gained much popularity for its high-end specifications, comparatively cheap pricing and being the first device to have the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. However, the handset has been surrounded with supply issue ever since its release.
"According to this price card it seems that TELUS will be making room for the Google Nexus 4 soon. No word yet on the release date or pricing. The Nexus 4, which recently received a minor redesign, has already appeared on competing carriers such as Fido, Virgin, Eastlink, WIND and Videotron," reports Mobile Syrup.
Fido is offering the 16GB Nexus 4 for $100 on select two-year contracts and for $429 on a pre-paid plan. Recently, Quebec-based Videotron also began offering the Nexus 4, starting at $0 on contract, whereas the unlocked version is priced at $499.95 (16GB). Similarly, WIND is also offering the Nexus 4 with a starting price of $249 on a three-year contract.
If compared to Canadian carriers, customers can buy the unlocked version of the Nexus 4 directly from Google Play store (Canada) with a price tag of $309 (8GB) and $359 (16GB).
The Nexus 4 packs in a 4.7-inch TrueHD IPS Plus Display with 1280 x 768 resolution and 318 pixels per inch (ppi). A 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM powers the handset. The Nexus 4 is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper. A 2100 mAh battery fuels the device.
TELUS has not officially announced the handset or revealed the price or availability of the Nexus 4.
