Samsung Rolling Out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update For Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

While rumors of Samsung launching the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus are circling the Web, an older tablet from its Galaxy line-up has started receiving the software update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

According to reports, the update is currently rolling out for Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners in Austria and will likely roll out to other European countries soon. This is the first update from Android 4.0.4 ICS for the tablet, which released in October 2011 with Android 3.2 Honeycomb in tow.

"We have great news for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners! Samsung just started the first Jelly Bean update in Austria! This means other countries are close. Samsung the biggest Android smartphone maker gave the Galaxy Tab Plus updates from Android 3.2 to Android 4.0.4 and now Android 4.1.2!" reports SamMobile.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is being rolled out over the air (OTA) for the Austrian model of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus i.e. GT-P6200. The update is expected to roll out to other countries in the next few days and has the build date March 25. The firmware variant is P6200XXMC3, which means that the P6210 variant will have to wait till the update is available for it.

The Galaxy Note 7.0 Plus tablet sports a 7-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution display. A dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz powers the tablet.

It is not yet known what improvements and enhancements the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will bring Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners' way. However, basic features like Google Now, Project Butter, improved text-to-speech capabilities, revamped notifications should be there.
