The Sims 4 Pets DLC: Cats, Dogs And Possibly More Are Coming Soon

The Sims 4 is getting the Vampires Game Pack later this month and after which, another Stuff Pack is expected. But what comes after these? According to recent evidence, fans may see the comeback of pets this year.

The Sims 4 Pets DLC Heavily Hinted In Toddlers Update Code

The rumor comes from strings of code hidden in The Sims 4 Toddlers update, which make reference to cats, dogs and horses. Discovered by Sims Community user Zerbu Tabek, the codes mention "species" and even small or large dogs through the "sitNextTo_Posture" string.

An XML code that mentions dogs and cats are also included in the XML resource "relationships.relationship_tracker_tuning" as can be seen in the above article. Horses are noticeably missing here and even anywhere else outside two state machine files, which may suggest that the developers have decided to drop the farm animal along the way.

Which Animals Will Be Included In The Sims 4 Pets DLC?

As can be remembered, the Pets expansion pack in The Sims 3 brought cats, dogs and horses. Other not-so-interactive animals included snakes, birds, turtles, rodents and lizards. Deers, raccoons and wild horses were also added, but they cannot be tamed to be pets. The question here is, will The Sims 4 Game Pack also include these animals?

Cats and dogs seem to be a go, but the lack of codes for horses may indicate that it will not appear in The Sims 4 Pets DLC. More and more codes are being discovered that mention the two most popular domestic animals, but nothing else.

However, it does not mean that horses and other critters will not be added later on. There is probably a long way to go before The Sims 4 Pets hits the stores, so the codes are most likely still incomplete. Meanwhile, players can look forward to the Vampires Game Pack releasing on Jan. 24, 2017..
