The Division Last Stand: Ubisoft Takes Away Timed-Exclusive Privilege From Xbox

The Division Last Stand DLC is no longer timed-exclusive for Xbox One. It seems Ubisoft is doing its best to keep its PS4 players from leaving the game.

The Folly of Timed-Exclusive Deals

Ubisoft made The Division's first two expansions as Xbox One timed exclusives for the first month of release. Such deals are normally struck between game developers, publishers and console makers like Microsoft and Sony. Unfortunately, timed-exclusive deals are the last thing The Division needs right now. The game was quite popular during its launch last year but diminished considerably in the following months. The limited exclusivity period is not the main reason for the game's decline but it's a contributing factor.

Renewed Interest

The MMO - FPS combo game is witnessing renewed interest from players of all three major gaming platforms. Catering to a specific group of gamers and excluding the rest will probably endanger the growing enthusiasm. At least now players from all platforms are at an equal footing once the Last Stand expansion is release. As to when Ubisoft will launch the latest content is another matter entirely.

About The Division

The Division was supposed to be Ubisoft's answer to Bungie's Destiny. The game though suffered a big decline in player based reportedly due to lack of contents. The Division also offers the same grinding experience as Destiny but some players complain of few in-game rewards. Ubisoft has launched two expansions and is releasing a third one to add more contents in the game. Lately, the multiplayer game is attracting players once more.

About Last Stand

Last Stand is the third and final paid DLC of the game. The latest expansion is expected to a new PvP mode. The preview trailer seems to hint of a 4v4 or 6v6 team match. Ubisoft has not yet set a specific release date but players are hoping it comes out soon rather than later.
