Hi-Rez studios has unveiled the contents for the upcoming Open Beta 42 patch for their first person multiplayer game Paladins. The new patch will add a new champion called Torvald which has been leaked since the previous OB40 patch. In addition, the Code Green Skin that has been introduced last Hi-Rez Expo event will be available on the next patch.
According to Paladins' Official Reddit, the new champion is classified as frontline uses a Gauntlet also has a primary weapon. Torvald has a base health of 3950 which will grow up to 9950 when using its Recharge ability. The said ability will help Torvald regenerate 850 shield per second for 2.5 seconds. However, if it is used on enemy shields, Torvald can siphon 2000 Shield health per second.
His next ability is the Runic Blast. It will silence and disarm the target for 1.5 seconds. Next one is called Protection. Torvald will 2000 Shield Health to an ally for 2s. His ultimate is called the Hyperbeam and it is quite exciting as it will cause a massive knockback to the target using his Gauntlet for 2.35 seconds.
Aside from the arrival of the new champion, current champions Pip and Viktor will also receive a new skin. As previously mentioned, Viktor's Code green will be bundled inside the Code Green chest which consists of four Heads, one Body, two Weapons, one Emote, two Sprays and one MVP Pose.
On the other hand, Pip will be receiving a Chinese New Year Weapon Skin which affects his Evil Mojo ability turning his enemies into Roosters. The item Aggression has been temporarily removed from the game, while both Life Rip and Rejuvenate costs will be reduced from 400 to 300 and 300 to 200, respectively.
As for the Hero Balancing and bug fixes, Bomb King's minimum damage fallout is now decreased from 15 percent to 30 percent, while explosion radius increased from 9 to 10. Cassie is now cc-immune when her ultimate is in use. Meanwhile, Mal'Damba can now only stun his enemies once in every 3 seconds.
Tyra's beginning accuracy is now being increased while her ending accuracy decreased, while Viktor's Barrage strike time is now reduced from 1 to 0.75. As of the moment, there are no official timetable as to when the release of the upcoming Open Beta 42 patch will be.
