Rainbow Six is getting a new Spanish Coastline siege map including new operators, uniforms and other items. Fans though are still in the dark about the new characters such as a Mira.
About Velvet Shell
Rainbow Six developer Ubisoft will unveil this year's content on February, according to its official site. Velvet Shell is the operation name of the Spanish coastline map. The developer also recently presented a half minute long video teaser of the map.
It seems much of the action is concentrated in a hotel called La Perla Blanca. Interestingly, the place is actually based on a real Spanish inn. The map is also based on Ibiza although many of its features are fictional. The short teaser though clearly hints about the difference of day and night in the game. Ubisoft is expected to reveal more when it hosts a live panel and demo from Febr. 3 to 5.
New Spanish Operators
The Rainbow Six update will also include the introduction of two new Spanish operators. One of them has been introduced as Elena "Mira" Alvarez Del Manzan. The developer released a doodle of her. Her nickname means Scope in Spanish which seems to indicate that she is a sniper. She was described though as an engineer who provided Tachanka with a ballistic shield. This also indicates that she will merely provide support. It's also possible though that she can be a sniper and engineer that fix things at the same time. Fortunately, Ubisoft will provide more details about her and the rest of the team.
Early Access to Year 2 Contents
Players can have early access to the upcoming operators including Mira if they are willing to shell out $30. That's the cost of the Rainbow Six Seige Season Pass. They also get unlock the new eight operators including uniforms and headgears. Those who also bought the Year 1 Pass will receive 600 bonus R6 bucks. Players who manage to buy the Season 2 Pass before February 7 will receive an obsidian weapon skin.
