Death Stranding Director Hideo Kojima Thinks Games And Films Will Merge In The Future

A lot of fans are eager to find out just how Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding will fair once it's released. Aside from the fact that the game will be his first independent project outside of Konami, Death Stranding looks to be a pretty ambitious project. Kojima takes time to talk about his philosophy when it comes to making games, and he's looking at a very unique future.

Merging Movies With Games

In an interview with BBC, Kojima talks about the evolution of entertainment, and how he thinks movies and games will merge together in the future. He says, "More and more people are looking at types of media that combine elements together...They would rather engage in something that combines different forms of entertainment together... That's where we need to focus our efforts, on this convergence."

As of now Kojima is working on his next project, Death Stranding, and the celebrity game developers describes the game as "not like anything they've played before." That's building up a lot of hype for a game that's coming from an independent studio. The again, aside from Kojima, Death Stranding has a lot of developers that have worked on Kojima's previous games.

Not Oversexualizing Characters

Kojima also talks about his games and how he doesn't want to oversexualize any characters in Death Stranding. He says he wants to avoid having characters in the game that have "big breasts with no back story."

Kojima's last game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, actually received some flak for having a character, Quiet, dressed in an outfit that could be a little too revealing. Hopefully, this time around, Death Stranding won't have any oversexualized figures, what with Quiet's actress, Stefanie Joosten, being rumored for a role in the game.

No official release date has been announced for Death Stranding, but fans hope that the PS4 exclusive will find a release this year
