Nokia EOS Specifications Leaked, Dual Core Processor, 2000 mAh Battery And More

Rumors of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones have been flying and Nokia Lumia 928 and Nokia EOS smartphones have received a lot of attention. A recent report details what could be the expected features of the Nokia EOS smartphone.

The Guardian had previously reconfirmed rumors of the impending launch of Nokia's 41-megapixel WP8-powered smartphone, dubbed EOS, in the U.S. this year. Not much was known about the handset apart from the massive camera but now MyNokiaBlog has detailed some hardware specifications of the Nokia EOS.

"According to our source Nokia are currently working/testing on two different models of the EOS, which have the same specs but a different processor: a Dual Core version , and a Quad core running the latest Snapdragon 800; the main issue appears to be the poor battery performance of the quad core variant which might ultimately lead to releasing a dual core variant," reports MyNokiaBlog.

The Nokia EOS is said to have a 41-megapixel sensor, Xenon & LED flash, OIS and possibly a Variable Aperture lens (like the N86) and a more detailed camera UI similar to that of on the 808. If rumors are to be believed then the handset will also have an FM transmitter, Expandable Micro SD slot and possibly a Micro HDMI out port.

The Nokia EOS is also expected to have a 2,000 mAh battery, which is similar to that of the Nokia Lumia 920. The Nokia EOS is speculated to debut on U.S. carrier AT&T initially and may head to other carriers later on. Currently, the Lumia 920 is exclusive to AT&T so it should not come as surprise if the Nokia EOS comes to AT&T first.

Murmurs suggest that Nokia is planning for a top-end handset for Verizon, probably the Lumia 928, which neither Nokia nor Verizon have confirmed. As rumors of a top-end Nokia smartphone for AT&T and Verizon are going on for a while, it means that the Lumia 928 and Nokia EOS will be two different devices.
