The HTC One is being touted as the Galaxy S4 killer and if recent reports are to be believed, then both the handsets are gearing up for a showdown this April. Per reports, the HTC One is gearing up for a Wednesday, April 24 release on carrier T-Mobile, which is two days before the Samsung smartphone hits the shelves.
Two separate leaks have revealed that T-Mobile's variant of the HTC One will make its debut on April 24. The leaked internal memo suggests that the smartphone will be coming to "select retail and branded locations." The Galaxy S4 will allegedly become available via telesales on the same day.
"Just minutes after a post went up highlighting a T-Mobile retail store planogram indicating a HTC One launch on April 24th comes an even more verifiable screenshot. I believe this new image should put to rest any doubts that the device will launch that day inside select stores," reports TmoNews.
Previously, retailer Best Buy pegged the T-Mobile HTC One launch for April 19. Moreover, the leaked memo reveals that T-Mobile representatives are apparently being asked to wear new HTC t-shirts that will come to the carrier's stores this week.
Rival carriers AT&T and Sprint are also slated to release the HTC One on April 19 and are offering the handset for $199.99 on a two-year contract for the 32GB variant. AT&T will also be retailing the 64GB variant of the phone exclusively for $299.99 on a two-year contract.
By contrast, the HTC One will be available from T-Mobile for a $99 down payment plus an additional $20 a month for two years, courtesy the UNcarrier plan. Retailers like Best Buy, however, would be offering the T-Mobile variant (32GB) for $249.99 on a two-year contract.
All eyes are now on T-Mobile as fans wait for the carrier to confirm the launch date of the HTC One.
