A lot of Overwatch players can agree that Bastion is one of the most frustrating heroes to go up against in-game, but as it turns out, he's one of the heroes with the lowest pick rate and Blizzard is preparing to give him a buff. Hopefully more people will be open to using Bastion this time around without any of the other players being too salty about it in the battlefield.
In the Battle Net forums, Geoff Goodman, principal designer for Overwatch, has put down the specifics on exactly what changes are coming to Bastion. All of them touch on each of Bastion's skills, including sentry mode, recon mode and self-repair.
Self-Repair
The developers are tweaking Bastion's self-repair skill so that it could be used while he's moving; the repairing also isn't halted anymore whenever Bastion takes damage. The developers had noticed that the ability had become rarely used by players who pick Bastion, but they're currently working on the skill so that it becomes a "core survivability tool."
Recon Mode
Bastion is usually weaker and easier to destroy during this mode, but the developers have been working on giving his gun less spread so that recon mode becomes a more viable option for the player when in the heat of battle. Bastion will also be given an increased magazine size.
Sentry Mode
Sentry mode is usually the mode that enemy players find the most frustrating. The developers are looking at this mode to be some sort of counter for incoming tanks or barriers. They're trying out different things with the turret like removing headshots and increasing the spread. The focus is also to make the sentry mode "feel less suicidal."
A lot of players have agreed that Bastion is a very tricky hero to balance since he can be very easily overpowered, but it looks like Blizzard is trying their best to get more players interested in Bastion. With all the bugs reported from the latest patch, Blizzard has a lot of work to do with Overwatch. Overwatch is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
