The Jollylook is the first cardboard vintage instant camera, which is made from recycled cardboard and works on Instax mini film. The camera's Kickstarter campaign has reached over $18,000, which is more than its $15,000 goal.
Retro With A Little Steampunk
The cardboard camera is made from analog plastic and metal camera. The lens of the camera can be set to landscape, group, macro, and portrait position. It is operated by hand without any electronics. The camera is environment-friendly, which utilizes used packaging of a regular camera, as noted on Digital Trends.
The body, the shutter, and the aperture were made of thick paper and laminated cardboard. It has a retro design, which can be folded out and looks like a little bigger than a cellular box. The folded size is 85 x 127 x 48 mm.
With Jollylook, the Instax mini film gets ten instant classic color shots and the cartridges can be altered many times. The photo size will be 46 mm in width and 62 mm in height. It features 110 mm meniscus lens that serves as the viewfinder and inserted into the pinhole camera.
The viewfinder is a Fresnel lens. It has an aperture that can be adjusted from f/8 to f/64 manual adjustment values. The Jollylook camera uses an automatic shutter system at the speed of 1/250 or 1/160. The vintage camera can snap as near as 20 inches, as noted by New Atlas.
Magic! How Does It work?
First, set the lens to the desired position, either landscape or portrait. Then, choose the aperture via the pinhole. After, pull out the viewfinder and look through it. Next, press the shutter to release the button. Then, roll out the exposed photo by turning the handle, which the capsule will smash into processing liquid and it will begin the developing method. After a few minutes, an instant photo will be at hand.
