HTC One X+ subscribers on AT&T will welcome the news that the U.S. carrier is pushing out an update, v1.19.502.1, which brings several improvements and bug fixes users' way.
However, this update is a minor fix and does not bring Android 4.2 to the smartphone, which means that the HTC One X+ will still be stuck on Android 4.1.1. But the good news is that, though the latest flagship HTC One is the center of all attention right now, it seems AT&T has not forgotten about the older warhorse.
"Even though HTC is now focusing on its new baby (and possible savior) the HTC One, that doesn't mean the company has completely forgotten about the last generation. AT&T's HTC One X+ has just gotten an update to v1.19.502.1. Sadly, this is still Android 4.1.1, but it does fix a few nagging issues," reports Android Police.
AT&T started rolling out the update a few days ago; however, users who have received the update are confirming the same now.
"The update actually started rolling out back on the 13th of April, but we're just now starting to see reports of it arriving for users. While we aren't getting an upgrade to 4.2 Jelly Bean or anything, this will improve a few things as well as fixed multiple pesky bugs that were plaguing the handset," notes Android Community.
The minor update brings the following fixes to the HTC One X+:
- Fixes to AT&T Address Book
- Bluetooth improvements
- Wi-Fi fixes to counter connectivity issues and drops
- Enhanced battery performance
- Other minor bug fixes
HTC One X+ users can find the update file available for download at the HTC Support page. Alternately, users can wait for the over-the-air (OTA) update to reach their handset. To check for the OTA update go to the phone's Settings > AT&T Software updates > Check for updates.
