Both Nokia and Apple are on track to release the Lumia 928 and iPhone 6, respectively. As rumors of the releases gather momentum, the burning question on consumers' minds is: which smartphone is worth the wait?
In the battle of iOS vs. Windows Phone, who will emerge the winner? Here's a round-up of what to expect from the iPhone 6 and Lumia 928:
Processor
The iPhone 6 is expected to house the latest A7 processor, which is said to be in the works. The Lumia 928 will likely feature a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, clocked at 1.5GHz.
Display
The iPhone 6 is speculated to tout a bigger 4.8-inch Sharp IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) display or a wraparound AMOLED screen. Recent reports claim that the next-gen iPhone could have screens on both sides.
The Lumia 928, on the other hand, is expected to feature a smaller screen by comparison. The handset will possibly sport a 4.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution.
Camera
The iPhone 6 is expected to have an improved 12-megapixel primary camera that is capable of taking Super HD images.
The Nokia smartphone is rumored to feature an 8.7-megapixel primary snapper with Xenon and LED flash. Images that were purportedly taken by the Lumia 928's rear-facing camera popped up online and suggested that the phone has an f2.0 aperture.
Memory
The iPhone 6 is expected to have 16/32/64GB on-board storage with no option to expand. Rumors suggest that Apple could also introduce a 128GB variant. The Nokia Lumia 928, however, will likely come with just 32GB of on-board memory with no option to expand.
Memory-wise, the iPhone 6 will tout double the RAM of Lumia 928: 2GB and 1GB, respectively.
Operating System
The iPhone 6 will likely run on iOS 7, but recent reports have indicated delays. The Lumia 928 is rumored to come with Windows Phone 8 out of the box.
Battery
Details of the iPhone 6's battery are not yet known and reports hint at a 2000 mAh battery for the Lumia 928.
Release
The Nokia Lumia 928 could launch early as April 25, whereas the iPhone 6 is rumored to debut in June.
The Lumia 928 is expected to come in a gamut of colors like red, cyan, white and black. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 6 could also come in a wide range of colors apart from the traditional black and white.
Both the smartphones are well-matched on paper, so ultimately consumer preference will decide which ecosystem wins.
