Until now, the Microsoft Surface RT and Surface Pro have had fairly limited availability. The Surface Pro has only debuted only in the U.S., Canada and China. But soon, the wait will be over for many international prospective users hoping to get their hands on the Windows 8 tablets.
Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface RT: Release Dates
The Microsoft Surface RT tablet will have an April 25 release date in Malaysia and will ship to Mexico shortly thereafter. Korea and Thailand are also slated to receive the Windows Surface RT tablet by the end of May or Early June. Pricing for these regions has not been announced yet.
According to Engadget, the Microsoft Surface RT will be available in a total of 29 markets come summertime.
As for the Surface RT's bigger cousin, the Microsoft Surface Pro will be getting a release date in several new markets by the end of the month. According to The Verge, the Surface Pro will hit the UK, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland by the end of May.
It's been reported that domestically, the 128GB version of the Windows 8 Surface Pro tablet is rapidly selling out and stores are having difficulty keeping the device in stock. Microsoft has apparently taken notice and has pledged to keep the 128GB Surface Pro "consistently in stock." Hopefully, for Microsoft, the Surface Pro will be as big a hit overseas as it's been so far in North America and China.
