Grammy: 'Twenty One Pilots' In Their Underwear To Receive Award

Bragging to hit the gong for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their single Stressed Out, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun raised and removed their slacks before going up to the Grammys stage.

They then revealed the naked reason why they decided to make the bold front - to stay true to a friendship pact they made viewing the show from home years before in their pants.

Tyler Holding His Award On His Underwears

Holding his trophy and in his grey striped boxers, Tyler said: "Josh turned to me, and we were no one at that time, and he said to me 'if we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this'." And so they did.

Twenty One Pilots breakthrough single "Stressed Out" sent them soaring high into the public eye last year - and they accomplished to beat an impressive roster of entrants to the award on Sunday evening. Also in the category were: The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey - Closer; Lukas Graham - 7 Years; Rihanna and Drake - Work; and Sia and Sean Paul's Cheap Thrills.

Band's First Win And The Owning Evening Of Adele

As the band celebrated their first Grammy, all eyes were on the leading queens of the night - Adele and Beyonce. British singer Adele was the conqueror for the twilight - taking five awards home including "Record and Album of the Year."

It was an expressive evening for Adele and she couldn't help weeping after receiving her final award for "Album of the Year" for "25", remarking that she couldn't accept the award because she felt it should have gone to Beyonce.

Even the Lemonade singer was fraught to keep back the tears as Adele gave a genuine speech praising her. Speaking about her comeback, she said that it "took an army" to help her get her latest album off the ground.

Adele said: "I struggled and I still do struggle being a mum but this made me feel in some way like I have got some of myself back again." But she glanced down to where Beyonce and her family were sitting and said: "I can't accept this award because, for me, Beyonce, "Lemonade" was amazing.

"It was so colossal and so soul comportment. We saw another side of you that we don't always get to see. We love you, and you are our light. The way you make me feel, and the way you make my black friends feel, is wonderful. I love you so much, I always have and always will."

Beyonce later showed off her maturing baby bump in a motherly display on stage that set the stage on fire. Though, despite being up for nine Grammys this year, Beyonce took home just two for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video.
