For Honor Beginners Guide: Know The Winning Strategy In Duels

For Honor is a game that's confusing to newbies due to its complex combat system and different hero types. Here are some beginner's tips on how to master the game as early as possible.

Know The Different Factions, Classes, Types

For Honor has three factions, four classes and 12 heroes in total, according to Ubisoft. The factions are divided into Knights, Samurai and Vikings. Each faction is divided into three classes namely Vanguards, Assassins, Heavies and Hybrids.

The Vanguards are considered as versatile fighters although they have no particular special skill. The Assassins are almost invincible in single combat but vulnerable when faced with several opponents at the same time. Meanwhile, the Heavies have the highest health and best defense possible among all the hero types. They are also the slowest but the damage they inflict more than makes up for it. The fourth class possessed the two skills of the three other classes. This particular class offers a combat that is unique from the other hero types.

Getting Acquainted

For Honor players should try out all the 12 characters in order to figure out which style suits them. Make sure to try out all the game's tutorial including the ones in the menu option. This is just the start in learning to understand its intricate combat play, according to gamerant.

Users can now choose their faction, class and hero once they try all of them. Novices are usually advised to pick the Vanguard from either faction. For the Knights, those are the Warden, Vikings have the Raider and the Samurai have Kensei.

Gears Are Cosmetic For Now

For Honor has a gear system that takes a long time to unlock but it's not needed except in 4v4 matches. These items are more for cosmetic effects in 1v1 and 2v2 fights. This means that players win by special abilities and not on gears. The game is currently out now and available for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
