Pokemon Go: One Feature Extends From Valentine's Day Event

With the Valentine's Day event coming to a close, Pokemon Go fans will have to bid farewell to the quirky event mechanics. However, there is one feature that will get extended for a few more days.

Valentine's Day Feature Stay Behind

According to GameSpot, the Valentine's Day event will be coming to a close on Feb. 15 at 11 AM PT. However, players are in luck as a popular feature will still remain for a few more days. Developer Niantic tweeted that the special Lure Modules will stay in the game until Feb. 18 at 4 PM PT.

This special item will lure in monsters for a total of six hours which is 12 times longer than the standard 30 minutes. Needless to say, those who want to catch more monsters should make the most out of the feature before the aforementioned date. Aside from the said feature, Valentine's Day update also included pink pokemon like Porygon and Chansey.

Major Update Coming to Pokemon Go This Week

That aside, the mobile title is getting a major update later this week as 80 Pokemon from Gold and Silver will finally arrive, as per Kotaku. Those who have already completed the Gen 1 Pokedex can look forward to catching a whole new slew of monsters. Despite the new update, the mechanics are still the same with players having to go out and catch the Pokemon themselves.

Keep in mind that it is unlikely that the legendary Pokemon from Gen 2 will be included in the update. However, it will include the three starter companions Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil. Similarly, fans will finally have the option to evolve their other monsters like Zubat, Onix, Chansey and Seadra.

Aside from the highly-requested monsters, the game will also introduce new mechanics like evolution items, berries and more clothing options for trainers. There will be two berries which are the Nanab (slows down Pokemon movement) and the Pinap (doubles Candy received if successfully catching a monster). Those who want to play Pokemon Go can download it for free on Google Play or the iOS App Store.
