Riot Games recently made an update on League of Legends that will make an impact on players' performance. Victories or defeats caused by bugs can get erased by "Chronobreak".
The Chronobreak
A number of League of Legends players have reported that they lost their matches due to several bugs. One concern involves the character's ultimate. There are times when the bug prevents the ultimate from causing any damage to the opponent, sometimes the damages are reduced. If this occurs, it's clearly a cause for a rematch. The trick though is how to prove it.
Fortunately, Riot Games is laucnhing the Chronobreak to make such claims easier. Basically, all the League of Legends matches are recorded as safeguards against game crashes or bugs. Players can then "re-play" the match before it was interrupted.
Avoiding Controversies, Raising Issues
Controversies usually occur when teams win or lose due to bugs or game crashes. This is not a good thing for Riot since it paints League of Legends in an unflattering light. This feature is available in the game to assure player that games are also played fair.
Critics, though, are curious how big the glitch was to convince Riot to reset the games. The number of players affected by a bug is also a consideration for the developers.
Game Reset, Not New
Other popular multiplayer games already have this kind of reset feature including CS:GO, Dota 2 and Starcraft 2. However, Riot is implementing this feature for the first time in League of Legends. Players are Hopeful that the developers can learn from the lessons and mistakes made by others. Riot has made a detailed explanation about the Chronobreak in its official website.
