Fans who are waiting for "Avatar 2" will be happy with this recent news. Sam Worthington who will reprise his role as Jake Sully, has revealed some details about the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster film. Some of the things he said referred to the story plot of the upcoming movie as well as its release date.
Film Production Is Going On
According to 20th Century Fox, "Avatar 2" is set to be released in December 2018. But some observers are still unsure about this date since the production of the movie is still going on. At least things are now moving in the right direction since James Cameron, the director has recently confirmed that the motion-capture photography with the actors will start this summer.
Motion-Capture Photography Is Grueling
This part of film production is very tedious, grueling and a long-drawn process. But Worthington and his other co-stars of "Avatar 2" are very excited that they are now at this stage of film production. The actor shared some of the details of the upcoming sequel in an interview. He revealed that he has already read the scripts.
"Avatar 2" Will Feature Jake Raising His Family
Based on the information provided by Worthington, it seems that "Avatar 2" will feature the new life of Jake with his new family in Na'vi. The story plot will pick up eight years after he has started a family. He revealed that the sequel will show the fans things that they have never seen before.
He said that the actors will be shooting their scenes concurrently. It is Cameron who will call the shots and tell everybody what they need to do. He also confirmed what Cameron stated last September that "Avatar 2" will be a family saga. The upcoming movie will focus on Jake and Neytiri as they start their family and raise their kids.
There Are Rumors About An Exact Release Date
There are also some rumors that Sigourney Weaver will return in "Avatar 2" along with Stephen Lang. But these are just speculations and the movie producers have not confirmed this yet. But the launch date of this movie is set on Dec. 21, 2018.
