So we all heard about how powerful, how amazing, how high-end the Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are - also how expensive they could be, around $900 for the Galaxy S8 and $1000 for the Apple iPhone 8. So, the big question is this: Are you willing to burn that hard-earned money of yours for such a price, knowing that next year a new and much better smartphone is coming? Well, what if I tell that you can buy something that is far cheaper yet powerful and beautiful nonetheless?
If you're interested, GSM Arena has new leaks and rumors regarding the rumored Xiaomi Mi 6, and according to the article, it is packing some serious specs. So, what did we learn about it?
The Display And Design
According to the latest leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will have a Full HD panel on its standard model and a Quad HD panel for its prime model. Now, if compared to the iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8, its rumored display specifications don't seem that alluring. However, thinking about how the Xiaomi Mi 5 looked when it was released back in April, it was not a bad looking phone either. In addition, regarding about Xiaomi's attitude with their smartphone designs, people might be surprise how well it would look like along with its possible retail price.
As for the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8's display specs, the Galaxy S8 is said to have a 5.8-inch Quad HD SAMOLED display with a DCI-P3 color gamut, giving it more color range and a restructuring of the pixel for a much sharper and brighter display. Meanwhile, the iPhone 8 is expected to have a borderless or bezel-less 5.8-inch OLED display with no physical home button that will be replaced by a "function area" similar to the touch bar on the 2016 MacBook Pro.
The Internal Memory
Just like before, Xiaomi plans to again incorporate the Standard edition, Prime edition and Pro edition for the Xiaomi Mi 5 - well, sort of like that. The thing is, with the Xiaomi Mi 6, there will only be two variations like that of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi 6, one variant will have 32 GB with 4 GB of RAM while the other variant will have 64 GB with 4 GB of RAM. As you may have noticed, the RAM capacities of both models are the same; this was also the case with the Xiaomi Mi 5. However, recent reports suggested that Xiaomi could actually be focusing to differentiate its Xiaomi Mi 6s models on their screen specs rather than RAM storage. But of course, it is still too early take this as fact, because the Xiaomi Mi 5 had a 128 GB model that had 4 GB of RAM whereas the other inferior models had 3 GB of RAM only.
Now, compared to the iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8, it is hard to tell as well what will be their internal memory specification. However, there were rumors not long ago that the Galaxy S8 will have 6 GB of RAM. To be honest, I don't know if this can be taken as its possible RAM capacity, because there hasn't been any mention of this lately.
The Platform And Camera
According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi 6 was originally planned to be unveiled last February 6, but was postponed for April to wait out the Snapdragon 835 chipset. There was also a rumor that the Xiaomi Mi 6 could feature a MediaTek Helio X30. Now, with this being said, it is quite interesting nonetheless. If this is true, partnered with how Xiaomi is well-known for its price range, you could get a smartphone packed with a Snapdragon 835 chipset on a cheaper price compared to the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 that is quite a sting to the wallet. And in regards to what camera specifications will the Xiaomi Mi 6 have, it is said to have a 12 MP Sony IMX386 and a 8 MP Sony IMX268.
