‘Rick And Morty’ Season 3 Latest Updates: Recording Of Next Episode Underway; First Trailer Released

Fans of "Rick and Morty" will be happy to hear this fresh update about "Rick and Morty" season 3. Its first trailer is making the rounds on the internet. This trailer was released by Adult Swim, the producers of the show. It seems that the production of the show is really underway.

Recording Of Season 3 Has Already Started

Through a Twitter post, a co-writer of "Rick and Morty" season 3 has confirmed that recording of the show has just started on Feb. 21, 2017. In his post, Mike McMahan stated that they are already recording episode 301 of the hit TV series. That means season 3 of the show will really see the light of day very soon.

This could be the reason why Adult Swim has released the first trailer of "Rick and Morty" season 3 called "Exclusive Season 3 Opening Scene." Naturally, fans were very happy to see the first sneak peek of the upcoming season. However, some fans say that the trailer is not what they expected.

The First Trailer Is Not What Fans Have Expected

On close scrutiny, some fans found that the trailer turned out to be just a mash up of various short scenes of "Rick and Morty" seasons 1 and 2. The teaser lasted a little over 40 seconds and seems to echo the lyrics of the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. Are they really part of the opening scenes of season 3?

Nevertheless, the release of this trailer by Adult Swim may indicate that work is now being done on the production of "Rick and Morty" season 3. Perhaps the producers are laying out the ground works for a real teaser for the upcoming season. At least fans can see that the producers are busy working on the show's production.

"Rick and Morty" seasons 3 Will Be Longer

During the last Sundance Film Festival, Dan Harmon, co-creator of "Rick and Morty" seasons 3 said that it will be longer than the previous seasons. He said that season 3 will have 14 episodes in contrast to only 11 episodes of season 1, and 10 episodes of season 2. The extended length of season 3 could be one of the reasons for the delay in its release.
