Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 To Come With $25 Windows Phone Store Credit

As the alleged launch date nears, the rumor mill is going ballistic with leaks and speculation surrounding the purported Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 928. The latest rumor making the rounds suggests that U.S. carrier Verizon will offer the Lumia 928 with a $25 Windows Phone Store credit.

"$25 Windows Phone Store credit with purchase of upcoming Nokia Lumia 928 from Verizon," tweeted @evleaks.

The Windows Phone Store credit news seems to hint that Nokia is looking to make the transition to Windows Phone easier for smartphone users. The $25 credit would make it easier for users to replace the apps they left behind on the older device.

According to reports, the Lumia 928 will likely debut on May 14 and will be a slightly modified variant of the Lumia 920. The smartphone is said to be both thinner and taller than the Lumia 920.

"The handset is expected to be announced on the 14th May and to be a slightly thinner version of the Nokia Lumia 920 with a Xenon flash," reports WMPoweruser.

Some rumors also hint at an edge-to-edge display for the smartphone. Speculation is also rife that Instagram may soon be available for Windows Phone devices and the Lumia 928 could be the first Windows phone to include the app.

The Lumia 928 is expected to carry a 4.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution and a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, clocked at 1.5GHz.

The impending Nokia smartphone is believed to have an 8.7-megapixel primary camera with Xenon and LED flash. Images that were supposedly taken from the Lumia 928's primary camera also popped up online and pointed to a high-resolution camera on the device.

Nokia is expected to announce the Lumia 928 at a media event in London on May 14. U.S. carrier Verizon is rumored to offer the Lumia 928 exclusively, in white, black, red and cyan.
