It's quite reminiscent of how young love used to be, as exactly 15 years since "A Walk To Remember" film was released, the film's stars, Mandy Moore and Shane West has reunited to talk about their experiences on set as it marks their anniversary.
The cast this week had an interview with Entertainment Weekly and opened up about their time making the movie together, offering up a few surprising revelations that has never been told for fifteen years. Now 32, Mandy revealed she was into her co-star while shooting the weepie film.
Mandy Recollecting Memories With Shane
'Shane was so cool at that time. Everything about him - the way he dressed, the little cigarettes that he smoked, and the music he listened to,' she confessed. 'He had a charisma and to me, there was definitely a part of me that undeniably fell in love with him.'
Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a recalcitrant teenage boy named Landon, who falls for the charmed Jamie. But the fanciful couple soon discovers their relationship is meant for a heartbreak.
Despite the obvious harmony between the film's leads, Shane, 38, admits Mandy almost didn't get her part.
'There was someone else - who I'm not going to say right now - whose name was batted around for Mandy's role. I remember I wasn't as deep as on that idea and with thanks it didn't happen,' he revealed. 'It just didn't feel right. The person just didn't seem to be in the role.'
While both stars detail the film as life-moving, Mandy says the biggest influence was in her presence - specifically her hair, which she had to dye brown for the role alone.
'I was blonde back then and, for the most part, haven't gone back since. It was transformative,' she said. 'As silly as it sounds, there was a real implication in the way that people saw me, but also in the way that I handle myself and that became what I am.'
Shane And Mandy Has Not Yet Settled For Another Tandem
While the movie-love birds have no plans to reunite together onscreen now, Mandy says they would both love to have one, and are just looking for the right break. 'We're working on it!' she told a fan. Mandy, on her Instagram, marked the occasion on Wednesday. She shared a photo from the movie and a caption: 'In honor of the 15th anniversary of A Walk To Remember, let's take a walk down memory lane... What are your favorite scenes? Any questions?'
Shane followed suit as he posted the message: 'It seems it's the 15th anniversary of the little engine that could... A Walk To Remember. Time flies Your love and support for this film will always put a smile on our faces. THANK YOU ✨ @mandymooremm @adamshankman'
