The Vivo V5 Plus and Asus Zenfone Live are smartphones that cater to selfie lovers. Here are the list of known specs, features, launch date and price of the said phones.
The Launch Date
The Vivo V5 Plus was announced and was also released last month. The Asus Zenfone Live is just recently announced and is expected to be released next month.
The Price
The retail price of the Vivo V5 Plus is $410, depending on where you buy it. As for the Asus Zenfone Live, the company has kept its price tag under wraps.
The Design
The Vivo V5 Plus features a body dimension of 152.6 x 74 x 7.3 mm and weighs 158.6 grams. The Asus Zenfone Live measures 141.2 x 71.7 x 7.9 mm and only weighs 120 grams - quite light, if I may say.
The Display
The Vivo V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels protected with a Gorilla Glass 5, screen-to-body ratio is 73.8 percent. The Asus Zenfone Live features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D glass, screen-to-body ratio is 75 percent.
The Platform
The Vivo V5 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Funtouch OS 3.0 on top of it and is packed with a Snapdragon 625 chipset. The Asus Zenfone Live runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. According to an article at GSM Arena, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 410 chip.
The Internal Memory
The Vivo V5 Plus features an internal memory storage of 64 GB with 4 GB of RAM and doesn't have an expandable memory option available. The Asus Zenfone Live offers to 2 GB of RAM with two variations of internal memory storages; 16 GB and 32 GB. The company is also offering to give 100 GB of free storage on Google Drive for two years.
The Camera
The Vivo V5 Plus features a 16 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. At the front, it features a dual front camera, 20 MP + 8 MP with an aperture of f/2.0. It has this "Bokeh" option for selfies that have these two levels of beautification mode for selfies. One is Face Beauty mode and the other is Enhanced Beautification mode.
On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone Live features a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and a LED flash unit. It has a 5 MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.2, 1.4 micron pixel, "soft light" LED flash, and couple of camera modes; low light, manual, night and selfie mode. The 1.4 micron pixel helps capture more light, and the soft light LED flash is supposed to help illuminate skin tones. The front camera is also equipped with a wide-angle lens with a 82-degree field of view.
The Battery
The Vivo V5 houses a 3160 mAh battery and has a fast-charging feature. The Asus Zenfone Live is powered by a 2,650 mAh battery which the company claims that its standby time is 16 hours and talk time is 471 hours.
The Features
The Asus Zenfone Live comes with a real-time beautification mode called the BeautyLive. It can be used while live streaming on Facebook or YouTube which means people can now look fabulous even on live streaming with the use of this amazing feature.
