Pokemon Go Update: Pokemon Day Event Is Now Live

Earlier last week, Niantic announced an upcoming event for Pokemon Go which features a special type of Pikachu arriving at the game. This new kind of Pikachu will be available for a limited time only. According to the report, it will be similar to the Santa Hat Pikachu from the Christmas Event last year. However, the yellow tiny mouse Pokemon will be wearing a unique Party Hat this time around.

According to the report from Otakukart, Pokemon Go's Pokemon Day Event officially starts today. This event will bring an increased spawn of a special type of Pikachu. For those who are uninitiated, Pokemon Day Event is dedicated to honoring the Pokemon Company's 21st-Anniversary celebration.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Pikachu does not currently have one particular nest. That means the entire globe will be a Pikachu nest. Furthermore, Party Hat Pikachu will be available in the wild starting today until the 6th next month.

Based on the report, the special Party Hat will stay after evolving Pikachu into Raichu. On the other hand, players who completed their Pikachu achievement would greatly benefit from this event. It is also highly encouraged that players should save enough number of this exclusive type of Pikachu. On that note, new or returning players of the game will have a chance to own this time-exclusive Pokemon.

On other news, Trading Feature is highly expected to arrive in Pokemon Go next. This would allow trainers to trade Pokemon from other trainers playing the game. Trading is helpful for those players who have not yet completed their PokeDex. Additionally, it is also a great opportunity for players to own the regional exclusive from both gen 1 and gen 2 via trade. With unique Pokemon types such as the latest Party Hat Pikachu arriving, the upcoming trading feature will be very essential in the future.

Pokemon Go's Pokemon Day Event will run starting today and ends on March 6, 2017, at 1 PM PT.
