Updates on the up and coming “Attack on Titan” Season 2 has just been released. The directors of the said anime series sat down for an interview with Newtype Magazine, a local Japanese publication and talked about what to expect in the next installment. Aside from tidbits of spoilers, an illustration featuring the main characters of the series was released.
The newest treat from “Attack on Titan” Season 2 was a teaser that featured Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Captain Levi Ackerman. The two Ackermans are garbed in their Survey Corps uniforms, wielding the division's signature swords that the two are very good with. Mikasa and Levi are highly known to be the best among all the soldiers.
Meanwhile, the main protagonist, Eren is featured just behind the two aforementioned characters. He is obviously in his titan form, which can be distinguished even from afar because of its long hair. Eren’s role, especially as a titan, plays a huge part in “Attack on Titan” Season 2. The synopsis even revealed that Eren has vowed to wipe out every last titan left and in order to do that, he has to make use of his new power, which is the ability to willingly transform in and out of his titan form.
Chief Director, Araki Tetsuro, and Director, Koizuka Masashi have revealed that “Attack on Titan” Season 2 has a plot that is less intense. Unlike in the first season, where there were countless action sequences and battles in and outside the city, they said that the new season will delve more into strategy and presentation. They also revealed that they are exploring characters who did not play important roles in the first season and that they will also be including original content in the anime series that were not able to make it in the manga series.
