At the 2017 Mobile World Congress, a unique phone that goes by the name of Alcatel A5 LED was spotted alongside other two smartphones. What makes the A5 LED quite intriguing is its party-like removable back accessories with pulsing lights and pumping bass, making it a fun and unusual phone.
Alcatel A5 LED's Back Accessories
The A5 LED has removable back accessories with three options to choose from. First option is a grid of colored LED lights (eight by four) that changes color and behavior based on the things happening on the phone. Users can also use its built-in app to theme the lights in order to complement the owner's clothing or have the phone react as a visualizer for the music playing on the device.
There are also other options to theme the LED lights as well. One is popping up patterns for different kinds of messages and different callers. A great example is when it will flash red whenever it receives a message from the owner's boss or commander (aka wife/girlfriend).
Alcatel A5 LED's Other Accessories
For the other two accessories of the A5 LED, one is a big speaker with a kickstand, which is made out of plastic and doesn't really feel premium at all. It is loud but not as rich. The other back accessory is an unusually slim 3,000 mAh battery.
Specs And Features Of The A5 LED
Regarding its specs and features, the A5 features a 5.2-inch 720p LCD display, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (the company did mention that it this could change in the U.S. model) and packs an octa-core MediaTek MT673 chip. It has a built-in memory of 16 GB with 2 GB of RAM, an expandable memory storage via MicroSD, 8 MP and 5 MP cameras that record at 1080p and a 2,800 mAh battery. As for its retail price, Alcatel did not share that information yet.
