A software update has arrived for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on U.S. Cellular.
The report of the update comes from Droid Life, which says that the update is almost ready and should arrive over the air (OTA) in two to three days. Here are some of the features the update should include, according to a document belonging to U.S. Cellular that Droid Life claims to have obtained:
Multi-View's default setting has been changed to Off
Improvement to "Ghost Touch/ Glove Touch" response
S Health app upgraded to version 1.5.4.5
Correction to MS Exchange, where email is opened and fonts are either too large or two small.
Improvement to SIM Lock Feature, where inserting a non-USCC SIM will be blocked and "Invalid SIM" message will appear.
Improvement to camera, whereby when you press the home key in Sound & Shoot mode, a message will appear but there will be no sound.
Camcorder and Video Recording: Audio quality can be improved by improving recording s/w parameters.
In a bizarre twist, the document states that the update is for Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which doesn't really make sense, given that the Galaxy S4 currently runs on Android 4.2.2. Our best guess at this point is that this is some sort of typo.
Software updates have already rolled out for the Galaxy S4 on AT&T and T-Mobile, and users have reported satisfaction with them so far. AT&T users, in particular, report faster speeds as a result of the update.
