Recently, Samsung launched the much-awaited Galaxy S4, and many customers are still waiting to lay hands on their pre-ordered devices. Although it's not even been a month, the handset is receiving a software update.
"Samsung has released a small software update for Galaxy S4 in India. The AMDK update is available over-the-air and is just under 54MB. We're not sure about the exact changes it brings but it does promise to improve the stability of the device," reports SammyHub.
India is not the only country where a software update has been rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S4 just days after its release. Some customers on the U.S. carrier Sprint also received a software update soon after the official release of the handset.
"If you were lucky enough to pick up a Sprint Galaxy S4 over the weekend, you'll want to start checking for a system update. Build L720VPUAMDL is pushing out, checking in at about 24MB. A scouring of the Internet doesn't seem to tell us anything about this update or what it addresses, so your guess is as good as ours. We assume it's a standard last-minute patch that we see with many new devices, and won't bring any new functionality or make any big changes," reports Android Central.
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S4 will come in both 3G and 4G LTE-ready versions. Depending on the region, you can expect Samsung's new flagship to sport a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core CPU or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. The Indian version of the handset has the 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core CPU.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is priced at Rs 41,500 (approximately $771) in India and many smartphone customers looking to buy a top-end smartphone may be attracted to the handset.
