The Chances of "The Curse of Oak Island" to Get a Renewal

The season 4 finale of "The Curse of Oak Island" has indeed pulled the highest ratings, and there are new reports saying that the show might be renewed anytime soon. Despite Rick and Marty Lagina failing for the fourth time to unearth the legendary pirate treasure in Oak Island, the president and general manager of History, Jana Bennett, is reportedly pleased about the show's progress.

"We are proud of the compelling, creative progression of 'The Curse of Oak Island' and its continued growth," Bennett supposedly told RenewCancelTV. "The passionate and authentic story-telling of Rick and Marty Lagina as they strive to solve one of the world's most intriguing, unsolved mysteries is what resonates most with our viewers and keeps them coming back for more week after week," she concluded.

Although the statement did not specifically confirm the renewal of "The Curse of Oak Island," many fans believe that the praises are meant to tease the good future of the show that will be announced anytime soon. Fans though have to take this theory with a grain of salt while still being hopeful for the series to be get a green light for season 5.

The Truth About The Pirate Treasure in Oak Island

After years of digging, the Lagina brothers have not yet found any significant item that might bring them closer to the treasure that they are looking for. Fans have grown doubtful for a time about the supposed mysteries of the island, but are once again curious as new stories about the treasure have surfaced.

Although there have already been numerous speculations about the treasure, a more compelling theory says that "Pirates Treasure of Captain Kidd" might be the thing hidden in the island. There is a theory claiming that the treasure has already been found and was re-hidden somewhere in the island. Estimates suggest that a $180 million worth of treasure is what the Lagina brothers are after, but the unknown spot of the chest is what the hunters should solve.

A second theory is said to be pointing at Marie Antoinette's jewels and valuables as the hidden treasure. Her treasures were reportedly taken from the Palace of Versailles which were later transferred by the French Navy to London. The items were then taken to Oak Island and were reportedly hidden on Money Pit.

There are several more stories wrapping the island, but none of those have been verified by the Lagina brothers in their four seasons of digging. Despite such failure, fans are still as curious as Rick and Marty Lagina, and are equally hopeful for a successful hunt in a possible fifth season of "The Curse of Oak Island."
