"American Horror Story" is set to depict the 2016 U.S. election, where Pres. Donald Trump and his rival Hilary Clinton will be portrayed. Creator Ryan Murphy clarifies the recent reports about the presenting Trump and Clinton on the show. He said that the series remains to be an allegory. The story will not focus on the public personalities, but they will cast characters that will symbolize them.
Ryan Murphy has recently discussed his plans of shifting the theme of "American Horror Story", where its season 7 will mimic the U.S. elections. The creator believes that touching the controversial win of Donald Trump and his race against Hilary Clinton in the 2016 election will win the interest of many T.V. viewers.
Murphy originally said that the new installment of "American Horror Story" will talk about the election. He is still thinking whether to include Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton in the show. Yet again, the creator changes his mind saying that the new season will be thematic. Coming up with his final decision, Ryan Murphy said that Hilary and Donald will not be the main stars of the show but will show the horrors of both camps before, during, and after the election.
"The election is allegory. It's our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story," Murphy told E! News. He explained how the story will revolve around the election arc, while inserting the original horror theme.
Fan favorite "American Horror Story" star Sarah Paulson was rumored to play as Hilary Clinton, but Murphy has debunked the talks. He said that he is still searching for stars who will stand as the two presidentiables. Paulson and Evan Peters though are already confirmed to return for the new season, although the roles that they will portray are not yet announced. On the other hand, FX is yet to confirm whether Lady Gaga will join season 7 or not.
The whole plot is not yet final but Ryan shared that his team is almost halfway through with the story. The filming of "American Horror Story" season 7 will start in June, and might premiere later this year on FX.
