‘Attack On Titan' Season 2 Update: Directors Reveal Goals, Highlights On Krista And Ymir

As “Attack On Titan” Season 2 nears premiere, the directors working on the anime series have revealed some updates on it. Tetsurou Araki and Masahi Koizuka revealed the highlights of the second installment. They have also shared their goals for the upcoming release of the next season.

“Attack On Titan” Season 2 Highlights: Krista And Ymir’s Roles

Chief Director, Tetsurou Araki, and director Masashi Koizuka has revealed the highlights of “Attack on Titan” Season 2. They pointed out that one of the highlights of the second installment is Krista and Ymir’s roles, whose participation helps in unfolding the whole truth about the titans. Those who have been following the manga, religiously, would know that Ymir is actually one of the Titan Shifters and that Krista happens to be an heir to the royal lineage of the Founding Titan.

Ymir and Krista hold key roles in the next season because they will both show the two sides of the story. The first one concerns outside the walls, while the other is within the walled cities of Paradis. Tetsurou Araki and Masashi Koizuka has pointed out though that they will not just focus on Krista and Ymir this season. They shared that the characters who weren’t in the spotlight in “Attack on Titan” Season 1 will be also be highlighted as well. The manga series actually went in a direction that introduces the other characters' stories, deviating a bit from the main three characters namely Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.

Directors Revealed Goals for “Attack On Titan” Season 2

Aside from the highlights of the next season of “Attack on Titan”, also referred to as “Shingeki no Kyojin”, the two directors have divulged that they have set goals for the anime series. Tetsurou Araki admitted that he was a big fan of the series and he has followed the story and shared emotions with the characters. With this, he wanted the anime adaptation to be as immersive for the fans, as it was in the original manga series.

“Attack on Titan” Season 1 was clearly a success and Masashi Koizuka has been wondering how to live up to fans’ expectations, and how they will surpass the first season. Being a fan, himself, he felt joy and pressure handling the anime series. He is determined to deliver the best possible anime adaptation of “Attack on Titan” Season 2. Masashi Koizuka said that the actual animation and visuals are supervised by him so he is intent on making a higher quality of animation in the second season, especially this season will be full of battle scenes.
