The latest chapter of “Fairy Tail” manga has just been released and it is heartbreaking as the revelations continue to pile up. This chapter has unveiled the awaited meeting between mother and son, August and Mavis. It also finally reveals Mavis’s plans on how to defeat Zeref once and for all.
August Finally Meets Mavis
“Fairy Tail” Chapter 527 finally featured the anticipated meeting between August and Mavis, who were son and mother torn from each other since August was born. The scene was rather disappointing since Hiro Mashima kind of build up the story and have it just end that way. Maybe, Hiro Mashima was in a hurry trying to finish and squeeze in the last scenes of the manga’s final arc but then again, he could have done better for August and Mavis’s first meeting.
The last chapter ended off with Gildarts and Cana landing a devastating attack on Gildarts and the recent chapter of “Fairy Tail” revealed that those powerful attacks didn’t even have an effect on him. This reveals how strong August is, not to mention that he is the strongest mage in Spriggan 12. He rises from the rubbles, clearly unscathed and announced that he was born with an immense amount of magic power and that because Zeref saved his life, he will sacrifice even his body just to unleash a power that can take down even the world.
August finally displays his true powers, disintegrating everything in the vicinity. Mavis recognizes August's power as one of the ancient magic arts, magia, that can evaporate blood of living beings and melt the earth. August, who was hell bent on destroying everyone, catches a glimpse of Mavis suffering and he suddenly had a change of heart. He stops his spell and vanishes into thin air, a yearning that he could have at least hugged his mother.
Mavis Reveals Her Plan To Defeat Zeref
After August’s attack was stopped, Mavis met up with the Fairy Tail guild members. She finally revealed the plan she had laid out to defeat Zeref. She told them she was once captured by Zeref and that she got hold of the Book of E.N.D. when she escaped. Mavis was optimistic that Natsu will be able to defeat Zeref in their ongoing fight. After Natsu has taken down Zeref, it is up to Mavis to eliminate Zeref.
She then tells Erza, Happy, and Gray that they are the only ones that can save Natsu afterward. Natsu and Zeref are still going at it, debating over how family works. Natsu is enraged that Zeref killed Larcade without even batting an eye.
