Today's cinema industry is large and diverse. These days, people could watch movies with different genres and topics compared to before. And the success of these movies depends on the competition they face during their stint at the cinemas or for the most part, at their debut. So it isn't uncommon in the industry if a film's release date is either pushed back or moved forward.
Kingsman: The Secret Service And Beyond
According to Screenrant, the film Kingsman: The Secret Service is no doubt one of the best films of 2015. And although the film is R-rated, the public seemed to enjoy the mix of comedy and humor with the violence and sexual content that the film is praised for. As a result, the film was a complete success as it was able to earn a massive $412.4 million on an $81 million budget. On top of that, a sequel titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle was announced to expand the franchise.
In previous reports, it was detailed that Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Sophie Cookson and Mark Strong will be reprising their roles in the sequel and would be joined by Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Pedro Pascal and Elton John. As magnificent as this lineup sound, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is now held as one of the most anticipated film this year. However, the film was originally supposed to be released in June, but was pushed back to October.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle Approaches Earlier Than Announced
If there's one thing in the movie industry that makes sense, it's that having an equal or better competition during a film's debut would definitely affect its success. In this case, Comic Book details that the October release of Kingsman: The Golden Circle would, in fact, be facing that major problem.
Comic Book further states that the film's competition would be the sequel to the critically acclaimed and well-known cult classic Blade Runner, titled Blade Runner 2049. Seeing this as a very big threat to Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the release date was moved forward to Sept. 29, 2017 to avoid any head-on competition between the two highly anticipated films.
This may be the smartest thing to do at the moment as Blade Runner will be featuring the veteran actor Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. Although the Kingsman: The Golden Circle film will now be released on Sept. 29, the film will still be debuting alongside Tom Cruise's American Made and the Remake of the movie, Flatliners. Hopefully, Kingsman: The Golden Circle would still have the same success as what its predecessor experienced.
